Baby News Update

Well as most of you know I had a bad expierence at my last OB so I decided to switch.

Yesterday was my first appointment with my New OB Dr. Shaner so Doug decided to go with me. Mainly becasue he wanted to see and hear the babies again as its been a while.

We got there early and still didnt have to wait long. I was called back took my weight I am up another pound. Then I went to my room for blood pressure and to see the Doc.

Doc came in and asked me a few medical history questions and got busy checking out the little ones. We didnt have an ultrasound because it was not scheduled and the doctor dosent do that the ladies in a diffrent section do it so we have it scheduled for the next appointment and for every month after that. But we did get to hear the hertbeats. Dr. Shaner grab his device and said we probably wont get to hardly hear them but lets give it a shot and no more than he said that we had the 2 loudest fast beating hardbeats that he was so impressed.

After he was done we headed back to his office for more questions and talk and was giving a book that I can read. He asked me if I have the book thats out there thats common (I cant think of the name at this moment) and I said yes. He says burn it, its a bunch of crap read the one I gave you its has all the true correct facts. LOL ok besides who dosent like a new baby book to read?

Then I was moved to the Lab for my bloodwork and then sent on my way.

But I do have to say he is the coolest Doctor and Doug and I both really liked him alot.

Doctors Update

So a few post back I said that I was being released from my fertility doctor on July 29th, and that I had my new OB appointment set up with a doctor a friend referred me to for the 12th of August. Well I went to the appointment and ended up being there all day. I got there at 10 was immediately called back the nurse took a pee sample, took weight and blood pressure and then send me to my room. There she asked me a few standard medical history questions and said the doctor will be in after her other ultrasound and in the mean time can a student doctor come in and talk to me. Sure why not!

Well a few minutes later here she comes and starts asking me questions and let me say, some of the dumbest questions I have ever been asked also some that made me mad because its like she didn't trust what I was telling her. Here are just a few she asked me: She had in my records that my last cycle was June 12th, I said no it was May 26th and that June 12th was my transfer date. She says to me and your sure? I say yes I'm positive. Then she says well that changes things you are now 11w1d I said yes and that your due date is March 3rd. No its March 1 and she said over and over NO. She didn't understand that you have to go over retrieval date. Then she said well what did you do a transfer for? At this point I am like are you kidding me? I said because I have PCOS and I had to do IVF to get pregnant there was no other option. She said again are you sure you have PCOS? Yes lady I am positive, well how do you know for sure? Because I had a laboroscopy/hysteroscopy done. Then here's another funny one, she asked me so you are having twins? Yes well how do you already know that? Wow because I have had several ultrasounds the last few months. Then she has a fit cause I am on aspirin that Dr. Keller told me to take till the new Dr. takes me off. Neither the student or Dr. Stephens knew why I was taking it and wanted me to stop right away. Plus many more questions that I cant remember at this time. At this point I am already fed up with this student and want her out of my room. Bring in the Doctor and lets get this going.

Finally Doctor Stephens comes in and goes through her list of dumb questions and tells me when I will be there for my ultrasounds and that they want to do this and this. Then lays the bed back and decides she wants to check me and basically shoves her arm up my cooch. OUCH! Then proceeds to not tell me whats next and pins my arm over my head and does a mammogram. After she was done they decided to do the ultrasound, and this was the quickest ultrasound I have ever had. The student doctor was going to use the cooch wand but the doctor said just use the handle one so she did and she placed it on my stomach said yep there is Baby A and Baby B OK you are done wipe off and meet me out in the check out area. And at your next appointment we should be able to hear the heartbeats. I said why not now when I already heard them at the fertility doctor? No response. What? Are you kidding me I didn't even get to see my babies let alone hear the heartbeats or get pictures. I am so mad and so uncomfortable at this point. I was asked stupid questions, questioned over my answers then I didn't get to see or hear the babies. I should be enjoying this pregnancy and I am not.

After I left that place I had to go down stairs and fight and deal with the Lab for blood work and this place was just as bad as the doctors office. I didn't leave there till 1. What a long day!

So I went home and told Doug what all happen and that I was not comfortable at that place but was willing to give them one more shot and see what happens and he was so mad he said that hell you are. Monday morning we are calling canceling all appointment and you are going to the family doctor that all the females have delivered at. So I wont be delivering at Barnes anymore, we are now at St. Johns with Dr. Shaner my first appointment is Next Tuesday the 23rd. I will let everyone know how it goes.

Bonus Money

So at work I got some bonus Money. My work finally decided to back pay all the Admins for there SCA wages. Since we have some extra money Doug and I decided to spend some of it to make our lives a little easier.
We are using some of it to pay the real estate taxes so we will only have the one left that's due around Christmas but in October Doug get his Bonus at work and we are using some of it to pay the final payment so we will have money for Christmas this year since it will be the last one where we but items for each other, cause next year it will be all about the twins. I think we decided maybe we would get each other a $50 gift and no more. But after all these years on Christmas Doug has spoiled me so bad with expensive gifts that I wont know what to expect but it will be worth it to spoil the twins and not each other for once. The Twins on their first Christmas will be 10 months old so the perfect age to enjoy it. I cant imagine what the tree is going to look like Christmas morning. Doug and I talked about this in the past about buying Christmas gifts gradually so when Christmas gets here we wont have to do it all at once, and I think I may just start this now when I find deals or clearance items especially since we are having twins.
But back on track to the story after spending some on taxes we decided to build a deck on the door that we use to come in and out of the house. For years now I have been complaining to Doug and his Aunt Shirley has agreed with me that those stairs are so small that it is so hard to get into the door. Finally Doug agrees So we are expanding it out 8 feet and then also long ways. Doug was talking about it the other day and his family agrees but thinks it needs to be done before winter gets here so I don't fall and hurt myself or the babies. So we are working on it the last week of this month.
We are also redoing the floor in the family room, dining area, kitchen and laundry room. When we had the cats for some reason they would pee on the carpet in the family room, well now its stained and we cant get it out and don't want the babies crawling in it so we are changing it but decided to lay down hardwood this time. I cant wait I think it will look so good.
Then we also decided to buy our big items we are getting for this Christmas which is My rocking chair to match the furniture and a flat screen TV for me to watch while rocking the babies which will later be used for when the twins get older and watch TV in their room. The TV was my idea cause I wanted the one we have in there now a big one on the dresser out so I had more dresser space. Doug loved the idea. Woo Hoo for me!

So after all those items we should be broke again and all the money spent!

Mascoutah Homecoming

So Yesterday Doug and I brave the heat for as long as we could and we went to the Mascoutah Homecoming. We got there about 5:30 and went to the park where the end of the parade would be and got to see it all. It was so hot just standing there and then it decided to sprinkle a few her and there which just aggravated me more because then it messed with my hair. Oh well I was hot and a mess anyway why not add to it. After the parade was over the first thing was to get a soda for me and a bucket of beer for the Hubby. Then we headed over to the big tent to meet up with some friends Johnny, Artie, Ben, and Strubie. Standing there they had tractor pulls. These are fun to watch but after so long of me standing my back kills me and I have to sit down. I am not that big yet so I cant imagine how bad its going to be when I am huge. Anyway Doug and I sat down and after about 30 Min's sitting there we talked about just going home. We was hot and I was tired and sore, so we left and headed for home. We decided we would go home and watch a movie together but as soon as I got there and hit the couch I was out for the night. I think Doug watched half the movie before himself went to bed. Sunday was an all day of Bingo for me and Nascar for Doug.

Last Fertility Appointment- Time to Move on!

Well I had my last IVF Fertility Appointment with Dr. Keller on Friday July 29Th.

They did one last ultrasound to make sure everything still looked good since at this point my rate of miscarriage was now down to 5%.

In the middle of my ultrasound the Nurse says do you see your baby he is very active and moving and as we was looking he/she waved right at us, it was the coolest thing I have ever got see and sad Doug missed it. Then she proceeds to tell me that I have big babies. After she was done doing that and checking the heart rates, which went up from 144 to 169 and 131 to 166 she decided to check the babies out in 3D. This was so cool. Baby B was being stubborn so we didn't get the best picture in the world but we got one. As for Baby A you can actually distinguish the nose, mouth, legs and umbilical cord.

Baby A

Baby B

After she was all done I got to talk to Dr. Keller for my last time and I will actually miss her and may just have to pop in for a visit every now and then. Everyone there is nice! Dr. Keller and I talked about how everything turned out and that everything looked great and she was happy for me. And that I better send pics and keep them updated, especially because I was having twins.

I have a form to send back to them after the babies are born so I think I will just send them a picture of the twins newborn pic with the form.

Now its time to move on to my OB and I decided to stay there at Barnes since I'm doing a study for them anyway. So a very good friend of mine Jenn helped me out and let me know of a few doctors there at Barnes and that's now who I am going to. I am excited, my first appointment is Aug 12 I will almost be 12 weeks so I cant wait to see how big the babies are.
