Update From Dougs Truck Accident

This is the Following email we got from the guy Doug hit:

Hey Doug,

Just giving you an update on my car.

Got a surprise call today that really fried me at first but hopefully it's going to turn out OK.

They have not started fixing it yet as I thought was happening. Instead State Farm called today and they are totaling it ... but giving me the option to buy it back and get it fixed and keep it ... with a salvage title, which is OK because if I keep it I will drive it until it's not worth much anyway.

They gave it a blue book value of $6,050, which my insurance agent says is fair.

The cost to fix it all is $5,900 ... can't remember if I told you but windshield was cracked and there was bent upper engine frame piece and side panels and bumper that all needed replacing. HAVE A BIGGER TRUCK LOL!

They are going to charge me a $1,100 buyback fee so if I want it back I would get $4,950 -- $6,050 minus $1,100.

Gates Auto Body is going to cut out some cosmetic stuff like paint blending and they said they will be able to hopefully get close to $4,950.

As great as the car has been and as much as I've babied it, I don't think I could get anything that I have more confidence in getting a lot more good miles out of for $6,050 so I'm pretty certain I'm going to end up keeping it and getting it fixed. If I have to pay a couple or few hundred dollars I'll have a good running car with lots of new parts.

I am going to kill you for making me drive around in this rental/loaner though! Sue and I call it the Kia Shitbox -- it's a Kia Rio and man is it a little shitbox. No power door locks or windows and a little 4-cylinder engine that about dies when ya step on it. It is too funny!

For what it's worth, your insurance people have been pretty good ... just slow in making the decision to total it. But it all looks like it will work out.

Riggs

Can you believe that, Doug actually totaled the car! Hope it all works out for you Riggs and you visit us again soon! Next time we will find you a safe parking spot! LOL

Doug Had A Accident

So this weekend there was a Regional PBA Tournament at Scott Air Force Base and a couple of our friends Jeff and his girlfriend Susan that Doug used to bowl regionals with, decided to bowl this weekend. When Jeff comes into town for this regional, he always stays at our house to save on hotel costs. He used to do this for us when we would visit his hometown for the regionals. But anyway so Jeff had to bowl A squad that morning at 9 and we met up with him there later that afternoon. After he was finished we decided to head back to the house to freshen up and head out to lunch at Pappys Smokehouse for BBQ in st Louis Check out the food that Doug an I had. Doug had the Ribs and before I could say let me have a bite and try them, they were gone. And yes that's corn on the cob, but they fry it and it was delicious.

I had the Frito pie, this was corn chips covered with baked beans, cheese, and onions. This was so good!

Then we headed to the casinos. But as we was leaving to head to lunch the guys were talking and Doug decided to back up to pull out of the driveway to leave, when he forgot Jeff's car was parked behind him. Susan started to yell STOP and when I realized why she was yelling STOP I started to scream with her, especially since the guys were talking and not paying attention. Before Susan and I could get Doug's attention we heard CRUNCH! Doug pulls forward and we all get out. I just wanted to fall to the floor and faint, I couldn't believe it. Jeff's hood was pushed forward to the windshield and the bad thing is he had to drive all the way back to Wisconsin like. Jeff said it was driveable, but would have a hard time seeing over the steering wheel but will be fine.

And then on top of it all everyone loss at the casino. Jeff had a bad experience at the craps table. Jeff was on a big roll like 26 rolls in a row over $600.00 on the table when as he threw the dice another guy puts his hand on the table to make a bet and bam the dice hits his hand and 7 out. All the money gone! Jeff was so mad that he made Doug and I take him home before he got arrested.

IVF Udate

This was on a previous post.

Well today was my first appointment. I sat down and had a consultation with Dr. Keller and she tells me I am definitely an IVF Candidate and "lets get the ball rolling". She asked me tons of medical history questions and then proceeds to tell me what we will be doing and what needs to be done. First we are starting off with me a 2 hour fasting glucose test and blood work. And Doug will do his semen analysis. Then we will schedule our orientation to learn how everything works and how to administer all the drugs. Then my next cycle we will begin the shots and then after 8 weeks of my shots it will be retrieval day then 5 days later we hope to have a baby to be put back in. Fingers Crossed!

But after attending orientation yesterday, I learned what I wrote previously was not correct information (Its colored in Red). I think I got confused previously.

After ending my orientation yesterday here is the correct information. I learned that I will start my next cycle. After I start my cycle I will start taking a shot of one med for approx 8 days to stop my cycles. Then I will take another shot 1 time to stimulated my ovaries and 1 more shot for a few days. Then I am done for a few days, because I go in for retrieval day of my eggs. This day I start my progesterone shot and this is the shot that I take for 58 days straight. After 3 to 5 days I go back in and we do the embryo transfer. At this point you are already considered pregnant and if I understood Dr Odem yesterday you are basically already 2 weeks pregnant. Don't ask me, because I am also confused. At this point I just need to carry that baby(s). Then I will go back in 2 weeks for a blood work pregnancy test they said urine ones are no good.

Also for my blood work that came back that my IVF Doctor didn't like.
Wed afternoon I went to my primary Doctor. He basically tells me that this is nothing to worry about and dont lose sleep over it. He sees this all the time and basically the number is not that high it happens in 1 in 1000 people a week, its just at the point to aggravated him and I. Why its aggravating is because now he has to do another blood test to find out if the new one is high and if it is then more blood work to come to find out where its high at. Kidneys, liver, intestines or my bone. He also thinks it may because of my PCOS. But we will know the results Mon and go from there. If this test comes back clean then I am good to go on with my IVF right now I have to wait to be on the safe side. But thank God we are finding out now and I wont have to wait another month, because I haven't started my cycle this month yet, but he better hurry.

IVF Update!

So the nurse at my doctors office called me on Monday morning to tell me my test results. First off I passed the glucose test. Thank God! But as for my other blood work all was good but one test, this test is the function of your sugar, kidneys, bone and liver. She said this test was elevated high at 145 and normal is anywhere from 52-110. Kinda scary if you ask me. But she says for me to take my lab results to my primary doctor and let him evaluate me and decided what he would like to do. I'm headed there this afternoon and will let everyone know what he says.

Tomorrow is our orientation day for us. More on that on Friday!
