Trying to have a baby

Well here is the process that Doug and I so far have went through and whats next: Doug and I started off by seeing a doctor at St. Johns Hospital. We saw the Doctor for a little over a year and nothing was accomplished. He didn't run any test on me, all he did was put me on medicine after medicine and had me come in approximately twice a month sometimes more for an ultrasound to see how I was progressing. He told me most of the time it looks good you have tons of eggs but they are not quite big enough to fertilize yet, so lets bump up your medicine. So we did that and he over did it and my ovary ended up the size of a softball, so we had to counteract it and put me on birth control for a month, which defeats my purpose since I was trying to get pregnant, not prevent it. After my ovary was back to the size it was supposed to be we tried it all over again with a new medicine. At one point he thinks I did conceive just did carry it, so we tried again and then took another medicine to help me carry it, but it didnt work. Nothing was working and later the doctor tells me I am resistent to all the meds I was taking. Great!!!! After everything that I had already taken he then decides to tell me well we need to perform a test on you to make sure your tubes are not blocked. BuI am thinking to myself shouldn't we have done this from the begining? But it was a good thing we did the procedure, because my right tube showed up on the scan that it was blocked. And let me tell you that procedure hurt so bad. It was worse than having a cycle. Well now 2 years have gone by and he tells me that there is not much else he can do for me and recommends invitro. At that same time he tells me that very good friends of Doug and Mine was having that procedure done and told us how expensive it is and what all she was going through. Doug and I talked about it, but decided that right now we just cant afford that. Then I started talking to another good friend of mine Amy and she was also having fertility problems. She had already had 3 miscarriages so she decided to go see a fertility doctor. The Doctor sat her down and talked to her and at the end told her she was an easy case and he would have her pregnant in no time. Well he was correct, she had a beatiful baby boy Dominic, I was so happy for her and I got to hold him the day he was born. Oh yeah then her previous doctor told her that she would never have kids without fertility drugs and guess what next came Kylie without any drugs. So after talking to Amy I decided to give her doctor a try and went to see him. So far he has been amazing. He has scheduled me surgery to have a procedure done to see if I have endometriosis which I mention to my last doctor could I possibly have that and he said no I dont think so. But my new Doctor, that is the first thing he says to me. Also while he is in there he is going to make sure that my right tube is blocked since we only did a tubal dye test and he said they sometimes can be false. And if it is blocked he is going to see if he can unblock it or fix it anyway he can. But in the mean time while this is all scheduled he put me on the clomid that the first Doctor had me on. After I was on it the week I was supposed to be I went it for my ultrasound. He looked at the ultrasound and said wow you have tons of eggs! Wow did that sound familiar to me I heard that from the last doctor. But then he proceeds to tell me that it is not always a good thing, I asked why? He said well its what we call Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. It's where you produce alot of eggs and they form along the outside of the ovary, but there is so many of them that they can grow to the size they need to be to be fertilized. So I asked him well what do we do? He says to me well Im not sure if that is exactly what you have, but the bloodwork will tell us and when we get it back we will know then and go from there. If it is what you have we can put you on meds to correct the problem. Ok so now I have only seen these doctor three times now. Once for a consult to get my background and what I have done so far and why I wanted to see him. And two times for bloodwork and a ultrasound. And in the three times I have seen him he has already told me two factors that could be causing me from getting pregnant. I'm not sure why I didnt switch doctors sonner. So now I have another appointment on March 8th to discuss my most recent bloodwork to see if I do have polycystic Ovary syndrome and what they next step is.

Oh and the best thing that I found out, was that I if we end up doing needing to have invito done that my NEW medical insurance will cover me and we dont have to pay for it after all! So far So Good!
