Christmas 2011

Christmas was a crazy this year.

We started off Christmas eve afternoon over at Doug's parents house to exchange gifts. Doug's mom just had knee surgery a few weeks ago and was still down and was not feeling well. She had plans that night to head over to his Aunt Em's house but since she was not feeling well decided to skip out this year and stay home and relax.

After we was all done we headed home dropped off our items and headed over to Aunt Em's. We had a surprise this year for the kids. Doug's dad hired a Santa to come over and visit. Let me tell you this was a scary Santa. Dirty his hair looked like it was dripping with grease ad he acted like he had been drinking. LOL but all the kids were excited and believed it all. After Santa left Doug, Sue, Dad and I all headed over to Aunt Shirley's to exchange gifts will all of that side of the family. Kristi and Jarred had to head home early, Kristi was not feeling well.

After dinner and exchanging gifts Doug and I had to head out to head over to Johnny's house to exchange gifts with all of them. I think we stayed there till midnight and then headed home to get some sleep, Santa was coming in the morning.

Christmas morning I woke up to Doug in the kitchen preparing food to take to my family's that night. I was not even up 10 mins when his dad called and asked him to come back to there house to help him take his mom to the ER, she was still not feeling well and wanted to go get checked out. All in all she was OK and feeling better as soon as she got home. They never really found out what was wrong with her, but after all the IV fluids she got, she felt better so we are thinking she was dehydrated and then all the pills she takes plus the Oxycontin make her stomach sick. She headed home to rest. Its now mid afternoon and Doug just got home. As soon as he got home we prepared all the food we was taking and headed out the door to my Aunts house for Christmas there.
We had appetizers, opened presents and all visited. Around 930 or so everyone left and we stayed till 12 playing cards, after we finished one game of 500 we headed home to bed.

Monday morning Doug got up early and started to tear out all the old carpet so we can get the new hardwood flooring down next week. I headed out to do a little shopping. When I got hoe Doug was finished and I was whooped but knew we still had to head back to his parents to open presents that Santa left us. Plus Dad made homemade vanilla ice cream. After we was all finished it was home to relax before it was bed time so we could all go to work the next morning, well most of us. We woke up to snow on the ground so Doug got called off. But he did manage to get a lot done around the house. Dishes and safety locks for the cabinets.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and has a Happy New Year!

I know 2012 will be a great year for us as the twins will soon be here and Christmas 2012 will be a very expensive fun filled time.
