Hospital Visit

This morning Doug woke me up at 1:30 A.M. messing around in the bathroom. I just knew something was wrong so I asked him if he was OK? He says to me NO I think I have a kidney stone again. You see 2 years ago Doug woke me up one morning pretty close to the same time screaming and curling up in a ball on the floor of our bedroom. I immediately loaded him in the car and rushed him to the hospital there they put in IV in shot him up with pain meds and checked him out. The Conclusion he had 4 kidney stones and he was in the process of passing one 5mm. We was sent home told that he may pass more in the future or they may never bother him again but he does have 3 more in his kidneys and it was up to them on what they wanted to do. Well this morning one decided it wanted to put Doug through pain. So we arrived at the hospital at 2 A.M. saw the triage nurse who tried to start Doug on his IV's, stuck him 2 times and nether one took so he was admitted right away, but this time we was put in a large room with 3 other people. Last time we had our own room and we had a TV to watch this time we had nothing, so it made for a long tiring morning. After being in there for at least an hour and Doug with a pain level of 8 out of 10 I poked my head out of the curtain and asked the nurse if she was ever going to give him something for his pain. A nurse who must have been new to it all decides she wants to stick Doug and get his IV started, he warned her good luck and don't stick me if you don't think you can do it. She messed around with his veins for 20 minutes and decided nope I cant find nothing and I don't want to mess up any other veins that the head nurse can hit. So she reports back to the head nurse in the mean time Doug is sent to get a CT scan to find out where the stone is. About 20 minutes later and he is back but is no longer in any pain and is telling me to tell the head nurse to cancel all pain meds he no longer wants them, I said are you sure and he said yes I don't hurt. While he was in the room waiting for his scan he had a few extremely painful pains and scrunched forward and back a few times, well it appears when he did that it moved all the way down to his manly part. Now he knew all he had to do was pee it out. He decided he wanted to try, so he peed in a container and strained and said it was hurting so he knew it was right there, but it never came out. Finally about 3 hours after all that the Doctor came in and told Doug exactly what he thought happen. It moved and now all he had to do was pass it. We was sent home with a pain med prescription and Doug said I'm going to work. I'm thinking yeah right go home and rest, I know I'm tired and want to. But he insisted to go to work, which made me feel bad, so here I am tired as all poop at work and ready to go home and nap. But anyway now its just a waiting game, and I will keep everyone informed if more comes up.
