This year one of Doug's buddies Billy, one of Johnny's & Bonnie's brothers lives in Freeburg so we went to visit him & his family. It was his wife Penny's' Birthday so we had plans to take here out but the weekend we went they were having there fair. Earlier in the day Billy, his daughter Alisa, his sister Bonnie, Doug and I went to the parade. Penny stayed home with the younger Daughter because she wasn't feeling good. So we got to the parade and wow it was packed but we sat with Penny's parents and family. Alisa and I decided to sit on the side of the road and I would helped her catch all the candy so she had enough to take home to her sister. Well we sure didn't have problems catching any candy, they was throwing so much at us that we couldn't keep up picking it all up. Then I turned around and Doug had a full bag of those fruity tootsie rolls. Apparently one of the kids on the float threw the whole bag because he was family. The parade lasted for about 2 hours, one of the biggest parades I have ever been to. One thing that I have to point out was Doug's Short bus made the parade. I told Doug he better hurry and catch it but don't forget his helmet & ball. And Don't lick the windows!
After the parade was over we headed back to the house to pick up Penny and take here out for her birthday. Bonnie decided to stay home and watch the girls so we could all go out. We had plans to go to dinner at a restaurant called Valentines, but they had an hour waiting list so we went to a Mexican restaurant. When we got there the place was also packed so we sat outside. After dinner was over and we was enjoying a few margaritas we decided to pay the bill and head to the fair. As soon as we got the bill, BOOM all the power went out. Not just at the restaurant the whole city. Apparently someone hit the power pole in town and shut the power out for everyone in Freeburg, parts of Belleville, Smithton, and 2 other cities. Since this happen we decided we would sit her and drink till the lights came back on. After they did we headed to the park and I met up with a friend that was supposed to meet us there. The park was still running this whole time because they was on a generator. So while she waited she let the little man Daniel ride some rides. And let me tell you one of the rides there was the ferris wheel, but not just any ferris wheel this was the smallest ferris wheel I have ever seen in my life. After walking the park we decided to watch the truck pulls. This was my first time ever to see this normally I see tractor pulls but not truck pulls. After the last pull around 12 am we decided it was time to call it a night and headed home. I didn't make it I was sound asleep and poor Doug drove home with me snoring, but we made it safe and sound.
